Zugspitz Arena

Overview

The Zugspitz Arena is jewel in the Tirolean Crown! Perfect for winter, summer, spring and autumn breaks it has something for everyone and offers the warm welcome that brings people back to Austria time after time. If you have never visited Austria or this region, then you really have to do so!! Nestled at the base of the magestic Zugspitz Mountain (on the Austrian side) it has several small, charming villages that make up this region.

One of them is Lermoos and to be found here are a selection of beautiful hotels including the magical Kinder Hotel The Alpenrose. There is something for everyone from the elegant Post Hotel to a fabulous Sporthotel which offers a great welcome.

Sport activities such as adaptive and assisted skiing are on offer along with all the other winter wonderland experiences one comes to find such as sleigh rides and snowy walks. In the summer access for wheelchair users, is of course, much easier but everyone can enjoy the beautiful scenery, local alp culture and history.

Places to Stay in

has a great selection of hotels, apartments and chalets suitable for all visitors. Accessible accommodation in is also available for wheelchair users (dependent on type of wheelchair) and those with limited mobility.

If a place is listed below it will have been visited by Ski 2 Freedom or will be personally known to us. However, any accommodation listed on this page is by no means all that is available in the resort. To have a full list of places, please contact us, and if possible please state your preferred requirements.

There are some really great typical Tirolean hotels to be found in the region. One of our favourites is the Alpenrose Kinder hotel in Lermoos. This is a magical place for families to enjoy a holiday at any time of the year, but in particular during the winter and summer holidays. The ski slope is just across the road and it is wheelchair accessible and has a very warm welcome for everyone!

The Post Hotel, close to the church in the old part of the village, is a beautiful hotel and would be perfect for a short or longer break - elegant and charming it evokes an era of when time moved slower and less frenetic! It is certainly a place to go and just relax and enjoy.

Michael Fasser is the Director of this super ski school in Lermoos. They are able to teach many different conditions and work with children and adults to ensure that they have a truly life-changing experience on the mountains.

The equipment is not perhaps as up-to-date as we would like, but it is there and we are hoping to raise funds to donate a Tessier Snow-kart and dual-ski.

Michael and his team are waiting to greet you and we know you will have a special time! If you have other children without any specific need of assistance, then the ski school can offer group lessons or private.
