How we use our funds
As a non-profit organization all funds raised go directly towards carrying out our objective. The Foundation is dependent on funds raised via the private or public sector to carry out and maintain its objective.
The Winter 2008 – 2009 saw the development of a sustainable income strategy via a Membership Scheme. Membership is open to individuals, families and groups. In addition we have a Corporate Membership, which is for all organisations who wish to support Ski 2 Freedom’s objective via the Ski 2 Freedom Directory. However, we do not see this sustainable income strategy providing the majority of our income for at least a further three – five years which is why Ski 2 Freedom is at present dependent on other income sources such as donations from individuals or Companies.
We are also looking at initiatives to obtain funds from sponsorship for our publicity material and the publication of the Ski 2 Freedom Directory.
Funds received are used to:
§ Acquire and maintain data for the Central Information Source (Ski 2 Freedom Directory). It is this Directory, which is the engine of the Foundation, and pivotal to the very essence of our work in providing the access people, with a disability or special need, require in order to facilitate their participation in winter snow-sport activities.
§ Maintain and develop a website which is the portal via which Ski 2 Freedom can reach the public domain and give access to the Directory.
§ Initiate and develop projects, which help raise public awareness to the work of the Foundation. (i.e. brochures, press releases, presenting the Foundation at various events).
All these items require some language translation. We would also like to provide our information so that it is accessible for blind and partially sighted people as well as those who are deaf or hearing impaired. Translation of our website into all major European languages enabling us to reach as many participants and associated organisations as possible.
