Disabled Ski Schools France
Ski 2 Freedom is about choice, knowledge and information. Providing access to the mountains so that everyone, whatever their disability, can enjoy the thrill, exhilaration, speed, beauty and magic that is found on the snowy slopes of the French Alps. The Ski Schools actually facilitate these choices, which is why we think this new partnership is proving so successful.
Ski 2 Freedom works in close association with many of the ski schools and their adaptive ski courses. We ask the ski schools for as much detail as possible on what type of ski equipment they have and the type of disability that their instructors are trained for. If you know which resort you are going to please see the list below - where indicated we have first hand knowledge of both the ski school and instructors. If you would just like to get a general idea then please click on one of the main links below for the governing body of ski schools.
Disabled Friendly Ski Schools and Organisations in France: there are two main providers of disabled skiing in France ESF and ESI - there are also a number of independent ski instructors and charitable organisations. All the ski schools, organisations and individuals listed have ski instructors and/or specialist ski equipment. All the ski instructors have undergone a high level of qualification in disabled snow-sport via SNMSF and ENSA (based in Chamonix).
If you have a particular disability then those ski schools which are specialist can be found under the section Skiing with a Disability.
Please do note that we are not responsible for any of this information and we do advise direct contact in case there have been any changes. In most cases the link will take you through to the ski school's information on disabled and adaptive skiing.
Disabled Ski schools, organisations and individuals in France who provide snow-sport activities (skiing - alpine, cross-country, ski du fond,) snowboarding, snow-shoe walking .....
In many cases it is possible to hire ski equipment from them such as the mono or bi sit ski.
A new idea is to take a "taxi-ski" this is a way of seeing the mountains and exploring the snowy pistes with family and friends. A tandemski is an ideal way to join up for lunch or see the panoramic views of the mountains - breathing in the fresh mountain air and recharging the batteries!
