France Disability Skiing and Snowboarding
The mountains of France are accessible to everyone!
Ski 2 Freedom believes that no child or adult, whatever their disability, special need or physical condition should be denied the opportunity of experiencing the beauty and atmosphere of the mountains, especially in winter, in France.
There are so many different ways in which someone can enjoy the mountains in winter: skiing, snowboarding, snow-shoe walking, husky dog and horse sleigh rides, chauffeur driven taxi-ski, skating, sledging, well-ness, spa activities......or just sit and enjoy the panoramic views, read a book, enjoy a hot-chocolate and absorb the magic of the mountains!
France has over 150 ski schools and organisations offering a wide range of activities for all disabilities and special needs. Although Ski 2 Freedom has not visited all these resorts we do work in close association with the ESF, French charitable organisations, ESI and specialist equipment providers. This collaboration involves an exchange of detailed information on their activities and meetings between the ski school Directors and the Director of Ski 2 Freedom.
Ski 2 Freedom is delighted to provide you with links to the resorts which have adaptive ski schools and equipment, wheelchair friendly accommodation and disabled access to many in-resort facilities and activities.
Close Partnerships have been formed with ESF, ESI, the Savoie Mont Blanc Tourist Office, the Rhône Alpes Tourist Office, Tessier and a significant number of ski resorts throughout France.
Working with our Partners in France and maintaining a presence by the Foundation in France, Ski 2 Freedom acts as a portal which will help and enable tourist offices, ski schools, accommodation providers, and all other in-resort facilitators to enlighten and encourage many more families and individuals with a disability, special need or long-term illness to enjoy all the advantages of the mountains in winter.
